#VRLA 😋

A playground for adult nerds? A thrilling and incomparable immersive experience? A study of consciousness experiencing itself digitally, spiritually, metaphysically, on all planes? An experiment in which the boundary between the User and the Scientist is eradicated? Further, a state in which the boundaries of Realities altogether are eradicated, or at least loosened? .......is this an acid trip I'm thinking about, or Google Cardboard?

I've been #obsessed with VR since I saw an episode of Married With Children where Bud gets his hands on a headset and creates a fantasy space babe.

(side note: uggghhhh can the "dweeby tech genius dude awkwardly gets with hot hologram girl science slut" trope please go away, it is so tired and WHERE is the VR beefcake is my question I wanna see some hot 5D STUDS but that is an inquiry for another time.

(side note 2: VR beefcake is a gr8 band name.)

Anything that questions the present/future of science, tech, art, perceptual phenomena, and space is immediately of interest to me, but VR in particular is special in its direct impact on transporting perception and consciousness (its ⭐️TRIPPY FACTOR⭐️!!!)

(side note 3, if anyone I know has had any experiences with microdosing + VR email me @ valentine.enterprises.usa@gmail.com) 👽💘🌅📱💋

Of course I wasn't there in the 1960s to partake in the psychedelic revolution, the first wave of the ⭐️immediate trippy factor⭐️  breakthroughs in consciousness, and reading about it in school I've always really wanted to be part of something that completely changed the way we as humans experience our reality. VR is the next thing to impact neuroscience and reality so immensely, and is on a level of 👽paradigm shift & chill👽 not too different from Hoffman/Leary/Huxley/McKenna's discoveries. I think the next wave is already here. 🏄

Anyway, your girl was lucky to go to VRLA presented by Radeon Technologies. It was ✨R A D✨         👀

Mindshow by Visionary VR was a standout hit at VRLA. The premise of this app is that users can create themselves as animated avatars in a structure that seems semi-narrative/semi-gameplay (I asked one of the devs about that, whether Mindshow will flow as more of a "video game with cut scene" structure or a free-form dimension of communication where people's avatars can hang out in cyberspace? The answer was, as far as the beta version is concerned, both. Or neither. Basically you can turn yourself into a princess/alien/normal person/dragon/whatever, record little scenes as a one-woman movie studio, and share them with your friends.) The app is still in development, and VRLA attendees can sign up for access to an early developer version.

Mindride strapped in a few daring souls to partake in a flying experience of a lifetime.

The Ascent by Mindride. I wanna make a VR guided meditation app, and I think their company makes similar ones.

The one place in LA you could be last weekend and not look like an idiot wearing a box over your head. STAY LITTTTTTTT✨

A demo at the LightSail booth. Did you know that Light Sail is also the name of a solar sail spacecraft whose energy & propulsion source is all SOLAR PANELS?

These motion tracking suits by Antiloop were so next level and SO pricey. I know what's on my sugar daddy wish list😵

With an even bigger bank account, you too can have an immersive movie theater in your house! 3D Live.

This way to have the most fun mindblowing incredible time sitting on the phone by yourself (literally seriously honestly no sarcasm here hunty).

women in VR speech

Jill Duong and Julie Young led a panel on women in VR. It was a great presentation and they're both excellent, brilliant, pro public speakers. The audience filled up more than half of the hall and consisted of mainly women, which is great, but we already know most of these points. It is the men, especially in the top corporate/development/executive positions who need to know these things. I raised my hand to ask a question at the Q&A portion about how an entry-level VR-interested woman can break into the industry or shift from a similar technical career like video/computer engineering/graphic design who's too told to pursue an entry-level college education in the field (asking for a friend ;-)))) well, most of the room also seemed older than 25/my age so... maybe asking for many friends) but a guy in front me had the chance to ask first, "why are women better storytellers than men?" Okay. And then another man prefaced his "how can I treat women in my workplace more respectfully?" (fair question but very broad and not very technical) with a "You guys are the superior sex, I know because a single mom raised me". I'm critical of those questions because to me it seemed like the two men were almost pandering to the women in the audience in a way that 1.is distracting from humans treating humans like humans and adds even more eye-roll factor to patronizing gender relations, why can't people who are good just do their job, 2.it sucks, 3.is irrelevant to the VR discussion. True, I was also butthurt that I didn't get to ask what I wanted (I spoke with another female developer about the same thing later) but I can't complain. I'm glad there's a venue where this can happen. Jill and Julie were amazing, handled everything like pros, and the panel as a whole was great.

Keynote speaker Reggie Watts. Not only is he a genius but he's fecking hilarious.

You can sure look like a baller sittin in a giant egg or scooter that transports you to dimension beyond your wildest realities!!!! GO OFF! 🚀

Valentine Enterprises is in the process of developing an AR/VR app which will ideally launch in 2017.  I'm taking Unity classes and watching so many bizdev/regular dev tutorials in VR. As someone with anaglyph/side by side stereoscopic 3D experience (in an experimental film college class mind you but still, same tech specs) I want to evolve my training to the newest level. 3D is the cave painting to VR's 3D printing. Or something. Anyway, I want to make a fabulous dimension with content, filters, and guided meditations that everyone will be welcome to be a part of 🎀 Friends in AR/VR/reg R, @ me msg me DM me DMT me
